Brief information about the scheme

The Pandit Dindayal Upadhyay Panchayat Empowerment Award and the Nanaji Dekmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Award are given to encourage and celebrate remarkable improvements in the social and economic structure of Panchayats and Gram Sabhas. Pandit Dindayal Upadhyay Panchayat Empowerment Award, Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Award, Gram Panchayat Development Plan Mission (GPDP) and Child Welfare Gram Panchayat Awards are given on behalf of the Central Government to Panchayat Raj Institutions for promoting and honoring remarkable improvements in their social and economic structure. Nominations for these awards are filled in the online system and frozen and sent to the state government. Accordingly, at Gram Panchayat level, block level committee and district level committee after scrutinizing the proposals, the proposals of Panchayat Raj institutions are submitted to the state government on the online system according to the highest quality. To verify the said proposal on behalf of the state government, committees are formed at the divisional commissioner level and after verifying the said proposals through two-level committees, the said proposal is submitted to the state government for online nomination. The said proposals are sent from the state government to the central government through online system.

Accounts Payable and Financial Provisions (Year wise)

The amount of the award is disbursed by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj of the Central Government to the account of the Panchayati Raj Institutions concerned.

Nature of benefits of the scheme

There is an incentive scheme for Panchayat Raj Institutions and the award amount given to Panchayat Raj Institutions is given for group benefit.
