Road and Bridge Repair and Maintenance Program

This program (3054-2419) is being implemented by the Rural Development Department from the Financial year 2012-13 for the maintenance and repair of Other District Roads and Rural Roads under the jurisdiction of the Zilla Parishads in the State. According to the Road Development Plan 2001-21, the total length of Other District Roads and Rural Roads in the State is 2,36,000 km. As per the Government Resolution dated 10.09.2012 detailed guidelines have been issued regarding the implementation of the said program.
There are four categories for road works namely Group-A, B, C, and D. Minor repair works are undertaken in Group-A/D (e.g. Filling of potholes, sidings, repair of broken walls/parapets repair) and special repairs and bridge repair works are undertaken in Group-B/C (e.g. Road Widening, Paving, Asphalting, Repair of Bridges).

Eligibility Criteria: Maintenance and repair of Rural Roads and Other District Roads and the bridges over them.
