    The Deen Dayal Upadhyay Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) is a skill training and placement program of the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD). This program is focused on rural poor youth and emphasizes sustainable employment through tracking, retention, and progress in a career after placement. DDU-GKY is designed to provide high-quality skill training opportunities to rural poor and establish a large-scale institutional framework that helps trained candidates secure a better future. The objective of DDU-GKY is to provide skills to rural youth who are poor and provide them with regular jobs that pay minimum wages or more.

    Benefits :

    Skill Training: This program provides beneficiaries with skill training in various sectors including agriculture, construction, retail, and hospitality. The training is designed to be industry-relevant and tailored to the necessary skills for beneficiaries to obtain employment.

    Placement Support: This program connects beneficiaries with potential employers and provides placement support. It also assists beneficiaries during the job search process, such as resume writing and interview preparation.

    Post-Placement Support: This program provides post-placement support to help beneficiaries settle into their new jobs. This support may include mentorship, counseling, and access to resources.

    Career Progression Support: This program provides career progression support to help beneficiaries advance in their careers. This support may include training, guidance, and networking opportunities.

    Incentives for Higher Appointments: This program provides incentives to PRI for placing beneficiaries in high-paying jobs. These incentives are designed to motivate PRI to place beneficiaries in jobs that match their skills and experience.

    Eligibility :

    1. The objective of the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) is to target the poor rural youth in the age group of 15-35.
    2. This includes female candidates, as well as particularly vulnerable groups such as PVTGs, persons with disabilities (PwDs), transgender individuals, and other special groups like rehabilitated bonded laborers, victims of trafficking, manual scavengers, transgenders, HIV positive individuals, etc.
    3. The upper age limit for applicants belonging to these special groups is 45 years.
    4. The identification of the poor will be done through a participatory identification process (PIIP).
    5. Until the identification of the poor through PIIP is completed, applicants who are eligible under any one of the following criteria apart from the current list of BPL families below the poverty line will also be eligible to benefit from the skill training program, even if they are not on the BPL list –
    6. youth from MGNREGA worker families whose family members have worked for at least 15 days in the previous financial year.
    7. Such youth from families who have an RSBY card with details mentioned on the card.
    8. Youth from families who have been issued Antyodaya Anna Yojana/BPL PDS cards.
    9. Youth from families where a member is part of the NRLM self-help group.
    10. Youth from families that meet the auto-inclusion criteria under the Socio-Economic Caste Census, 2011 (when notified).

    Application process

    Online

    1. Go to the official website of Kaushal Panji.
    2. In the left pane, click on ‘Candidate Registration’. You will be taken to the online registration form.
    3. In the ‘Registration Type’ section, select ‘New/New Registration’ and click on ‘Next’.
    4. Fill in all the mandatory fields in the respective sections, upload necessary documents and click on ‘Submit’. Note the registration ID for future reference.
