National GramSwaraj Campaign

The Central Government implemented the single umbrella program “Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Empowerment Abhiyan-RGPSA” for the strengthening of the Panchayati Raj system under the 12th Five Year Plan during the period 2013-2018 as per Government Decision dated: March 3, 2014.

Reorganizing this scheme from 2018-2019 to 2021-2022, the Centrally Sponsored Scheme “Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan” was implemented in the state as per Government Decision dated: 20th February, 2019. The Central Government has made some amendments in this and has announced a scheme called “Revamped National Gram Swaraj Abhiyan” for the period from 01.04.2022 to 31.03.2026. The said scheme is sponsored by the central government and the amount of funding of this scheme is 60% central share and 40% state share. Date: On September 16, 2022, the Rural Development Department, Government of Maharashtra has issued a Government Decision for the implementation of this scheme in the state.
