When was the scheme started

The scheme has been started under Government Decision No. KOVIO-2013/PR.KR.71/Yojana-9, dated 26.08.2013. The said government decision has been superseded and the revised provisions of the scheme have been provided under Government Decision No. GRASAYO-2015/PR.KR. 75/Yojana-9, dated 23.11.2015. View

Brief information about the scheme

With a view to providing employment and self-employment opportunities to the rural people of Konkan in their villages and to increase the pace of development works in Konkan, the State Government has started the scheme “Konkan Rural Tourism Development Programme” from the year 2013-14 with the objective of promoting tourism in rural areas, creating infrastructure for tourism in villages where tourism is being developed and developing villages as an alternative.
Under the Konkan Rural Tourism Development Programme, an Executive Committee headed by the District Collector and a State Level Committee headed by the Hon’ble Minister of State, Rural Development have been constituted for 5 districts of Konkan under the Government Decision dated 23.11.2015 to prepare the development plan and approve the works under the plan.
